EMERGENCY TRANSPORT - BLOOD BY DRONE

Make blood transports faster and safer

BLOOD BY DRONE - PILOT PROJECT

Drone make blood transports faster and safer. Blood transfusions save thousands of peoples life every day - often every minute counts. But what happens if the blood bank courier gets stuck in a traffic jam?

The Frankfurt-based Agaplesion Diakonie Kliniken and the Delbrück drone specialist Globe UAV are working together to come up with a solution to prevent future blood transports from arriving in the hospital too late. Blood-delivering by drone!
BLOOD BY DRONE

CROWDED STREETS - NO PROBLEM

Especially in rush hour blood transports are increasingly stuck in traffic jams. Traffic has increased dramatically in recent years, in Frankfurt by 17% in the past three years. The courier from the blood bank to the hospital needs in extreme cases up to 60 minutes, for a distance that can usually achieve in 15-20 minutes.

With the drone, the blood could reach the Bethanien Hospital in Bornheim directly from the blood bank in the Markus-Klinikum at up to 60 km/h in the future. 5.2 kilometers in maximum 10 minutes, no matter what the traffic conditions are, how the weather is and traffic jams around. Blood transport by drone opens up completely new possibilities.
